Goal🎯

-Create a wallet application that allows users to have a secure, one-stop portal to store all their travel documents

  • We would want you to design an android application where users can store and access their documents easily and securely.

Problem Statement😒

Imagine you are travelling abroad. You check off all the necessities from your checklist — clothes, toiletries, accessories. Now you are looking for your passport, and cannot seem to find it. Your cab is waiting for you, but no matter how hard you try to remember where you last put it, you just cannot find your passport.

It’s a headache trying to find and maintain all your travelling documents, juggling them at the check-in. To make this headache disappear, create an application that stores all your travel necessary documents in one place, so the user can access them in just a few clicks.

Initial Research 📋

First, I needed to get a solid knowledge of the industry, so I conducted some research on Document Wallets and their technology, downloaded a few Wallet applications, and read user reviews and other relevant information.
I determined what the app required that its rivals lacked, as well as how consumers will interact with and utilise it.

I didn’t discover any significant rivals to compete with because the issue description was so strong.
So my solution will be the very first application that keeps all required documents files in one application, and I’ll make sure that everything I do is user-centric.

-People are prone to forgetting crucial documents that are required for travel.

  • So I performed a quick Google search to learn about the fundamental travel paperwork necessary for a post-covid situation.

With my ongoing study, I’ve discovered that several types of documents are required for domestic and international travel.

-Due to Covid-19, we now require the following documents

  • Driver’s License, Passport, and Travel Visa Copies of All Identification.
  • Photo identification card by an employer.
  • Documents (Aadhar card, Pan Card, etc.)
  • Details of the Travel Insurance Plan.
  • Details about the Travel Route.
  • When travelling using COVID-19 travel documents, you’ll need tickets for events.
  • ATM card details.
  • Tickets for Travel.
  • Foreign currency/Forex card.
  • Proof of lodging / Hotel Reservation.
  • Bank account number for payments.

User Interview 👥

Travelling at least once a year has been the standard in recent years, with individuals always looking for fresh interesting destinations to escape daily life, learn something new, and broaden their perspectives. Even though there are hundreds of applications that make travelling easier, the market is growing at a rapid pace. I wanted to concentrate on the necessary travel documentation.

To learn more about travellers’ preferences, motives, and expectations, I use an unstructured interview technique.

Interview questions📃

  1. How often do you travel?
  2. Do you plan a trip?
  3. What makes you want to go to particular places?
  4. Where do you go to get information on a trip, such as needed documentation for a certain destination?
  5. Do you keep a copy of a trip (destination’s) information guide on your smartphone?
  6. What is the type of documentation format that you like to use? Example of a pdf, word, or image?
  7. Do you use a smartphone app to manage your trips or keep track of your travel documents on a daily basis?
  8. What kind of expectations do you have that we will be able to accomplish to create an application that saves and records all of your documents in one place?
  9. Would you like to allow MEGA, GOOGLE DRIVE, and DROPBOX access permissions for greater security? It will help you since no matter where you update your Docx, it will update and save at your application as well.

During interviews, I determinate 3 types of travellers

  • Single travellers.
  • Travellers with kids.
  • Couples.

Couples have the option of using a dependent or independent application.

For children, a mother or father might maintain all of their children’s paperwork in one application.

For this project, I’m going to focus on couples and single travellers simply because I’ve interviewed these types more them travellers with kids.

Mindmapping 🧠🗺️

We built a mindmap based on our internet research and fast interviews, which helped us reduce the scope of this problem to a few objectives. We wanted to put a greater emphasis on document wallets as the keepers of our most personal information. An instance might be a one-day return tour, a long weekend tour, or day-to-day travel (office to home)

Defining the issue and proposing a solution 📝

Thanks to the interviews, I’ve found the same pain points that both short trip travellers and long trip travellers experience

Our research and preliminary interviews revealed that an increasing number of consumers desire to ditch their wallets in favour of having all of their essential functions on their phone especially in a dedicated application.

1.Developing an Android application for saving and uploading travel-related documents.

2. Because the majority of those I interviewed had an Android smartphone, That's why I decided to create an Android-based application to keep their travel documents safe and secure.

I’ve included a persona template with the pain points and goals so you can see the same issue I encountered during the interview process.

User persona👤

I built a persona based on my interview findings, which helped me stay focused on their objectives throughout the process.

Ronit also requested Google Drive and Cloud compatibility for simple access and updates.
Aish was focused on security and scanning.

User Scenario😤

I created a simple user scenario experience template to showcase where our Travel document app shine.

Throughout the entire procedure, Ronit was very irritated.

Let’s fix Ronit’s problem by showing him our application.

Solving the problem 😁

As a solution, we decided to develop a full-fledged Android application that includes some of the most basic and essential document-saving capabilities. It’ll also let you know when your licence is due to expire and give you access to Google Drive. so that you may access your papers from anywhere at any time

Features⚡

Our design is an application in which the user may enter all of the information he requires and use it at any time, such as for tram ticket control. We started to consider the features and functions of our application.

Security🔒

  • One of the most crucial components was the assurance that our information was kept safe.
  • If their smartphone just has a simple 2D picture verification mechanism that may be hacked using a printed photo.
  • As a result, the fingerprint scanner will be kept. As a result, no one but you could open it.

Easy scan🔍

  • Because entering all of the information from an ID card into a form might take a long time, we recommend scanning papers. Scanning the front and back of the page will automatically populate the information. Of course, the user can correct them if they are incorrect. Crop, Filter, Cut, Rotate, and more functions are included.

Make a quick copy📑

  • One of the primary features is the ability to quickly duplicate entries by touching each data field. This is useful when purchasing airline tickets on a mobile device and entering your passport information.

Cloud Storage 💭

  • Now, for the sake of protection and security, save and upload your imp documents to Google Drive.
  • We can even update our document and upload new documents on the drive via pc or phone it will automatically be updated in the app itself.
  • Also we can monitor cloud storage as well as internal storage.
I will try to keep in the same access delegation which commonly used as a way for an internet user to grant application data & application access drive. Secure open authorization.

Final cards selection💯

What kinds of cards and data can be included in our app?

  • ID card (Adhar card)-(Pan card)
  • Mastercards~(Credit / Debit card)
  • Driver license
  • Passport
  • Visa
  • PUC -Certificate (Expired)
  • Tickets Travel.
  • Travel Ebook
  • COVID-19 travel documents
  • Medical Insurance

User flow🔂

Based on the user scenario we created a flow by brainstorming the solution required for the user.

Sketching Wireframes📐✏️

I began sketching our solutions and thoughts into reality once we had everything down. I made a list of the most important displays and started sketching. This is probably the toughest element to complete in such a short amount of time.

Wireframe phase 1 ✏️

Initial Wireframe phase-1

Following the wireframe phase-1, I proceeded to question the concept and solution with a family member. And I learned a lot from them.

Feedback from the family & friends on wireframe phase-1⚡

The home screen appears to be a jumble of disconnected cards with little breathing room.

Come up with a fresh login style (we are in 2021 not in 2010).

Face id features aren’t a good idea. For further security, go for a figure print scanner.

For colour, don’t only use white; instead, create a balanced saturation colour scheme that will appeal to both white and dark theme fans.

And after understanding the issue and flaws in my design I come up with the final version of the wireframe phase-2

Wireframe phase-2 📐✏️

This is the final correction I received from my friends and family after asking them to provide critical feedback.

Some of them requested that I create a DARK THEME for this because many users like warm colours over dazzling white, so kept that in mind as well.

Final UI Screen💯

Onboarding to Docx (Home) till (Storage indication )

And this is what i come up with final UI design for my docsurf application.

Dark theme screen 💯

Dark theme docsurf homepage (docx)

Final note 📝

For the road plan, I will definitely work on dark themes and other screens in the future, as well as attempt to come up with a lot of cloud-based features and try to incorporate AR-based technologies in the coming years.

I hope you learnt some new processes or freshened-up the processes you knew already (or were using in your design process).Because each project and product is unique, a single process or even a set of procedures cannot address a problem. Knowing diverse procedures is always useful since you will be able to pick and choose what you prefer and what you want to do to obtain favourable outcomes.
